PNG is useful when an application cannot accept a vector SVG. This example rasterizes a standalone 512 × 512 icon into a still image. Check the source dimensions before conversion because PNG will not retain vector scalability.
Example input
icon.svg · 512 × 512 pxExpected result
icon.png · 512 × 512 pxTry it step by step
- Choose a standalone SVG image with explicit dimensions or a suitable viewBox.
- Select PNG as the output format. The quality setting does not control PNG compression.
- Process the image and download PNG. Inspect small details and transparent edges at the intended display size.
How to read the result
The example produces a 512 × 512 pixel image. Enlarging that PNG later can make edges look soft; render at the intended size instead. For predictable conversion, keep the SVG self-contained rather than relying on external images, fonts or styles.
Limits and important details
SVG files with scripts, external resources or unsupported constructs may be rejected or render differently. The output is a static raster image, and it does not preserve the original SVG source.
